The Academy boys, who had represented India in the AFC U-16 AFC Qualifiers in September 2013 pumped in half a dozen goals past United Sports’ Junior Team in a Friendly Match played at the picturesque Kalyani Stadium.

Bodo Boardindao was on target five times after Nijwm Muchahary had opened the scoring for the AIFF Academy boys in the 51^st minute.

Head Coach Gautam Ghosh, fresh from his successful stint in the AFC A-Certificate rested most of his boys who had done duty for India in the AFC Qualifiers and earlier, the U-16 SAFF Championships in Nepal. Ghosh, never shy to test his wards, hence, put his wards to test against a tough Team, who gave the AIFF boys a run for their money in the first half.

Not that United Sports played all over, but they preferred to break down the middle and the wings stretching the AIFF Academy defence. But they were equal to the task.

After the barren first-half, the floodgates opened in the 51^st minute when Nijwm, with a sudden burst of speed sped past his marked to tap in before an onrushing rival Goalkeeper could thwart it.

The Academy boys played in the open spaces and made the rivals run around. And as they guessed, the Academy boys sneaked in into the spaces. Football seemed the easiest sport to play.

Bodo scored one after another, so much so, the bench got confused keeping a tab of how many he had netted. Obviously the 30-yard scorcher will stay in their minds for long.
