AIFF U-17 Colts edge past Sporting Goa 3-2

NEW DELHI: The AIFF U-17 Colts defeated Sporting Clube de Goa U-18 3-2 in the ongoing U-18 I-League at the Don Bosco Ground in Panjim, Goa on November 12, 2015.

The Colts made a marvelous comeback into the game as they thumped three goals past Sporting Goa, after trailing 1-0 at half-time and conceding a goal early into the second half.

Trailing 2-0 at the 51st minute, the Colts showcased remarkable character and passion to win the game as their spirits were seldom deterred.

In the 59th minute, the colts fostered a free-kick around Sporting Goa’s 18 yard box and Jerry blasted the set-piece into the back of the net to half the deficit.

Seven minutes later Nijwm equalized AIFF Colt’s deficit as he bundled home an essayed Surya cross. With the Indian colts attacking with fluidity and defending with solidity, chances kept coming in plenty.

However it was a last minute corner kick which decided the fixture for the Indian colts as Rahul Yadav leapt higher than his marker and with a thumping header scored to give the Colts the lead in added extra time of the match.

Shortly after the referee blew the full-time whistle and the scoreline read 3-2 in favor of the AIFF U-17 Colts.
