NEW DELHI: Speed Force FC will not only represent themselves in the upcoming Hero Futsal Club Championship, but they will also represent the state of Telangana in the historic first-ever national futsal competition organised by the apex body.

"It is always an honour to participate in a competition organized by AIFF. All the staff and the players are very much excited and are confident to give their best in the tournament. We're thankful to have received this opportunity," Khalid Mohammed Jalal, head coach, Speed Force FC mentioned.

They are clubbed with Bengaluru FC, Kuppuraj FC and Sporting Clube de Goa in Group B where they'll kick off their campaign against Kuppuraj FC on the first day of the tournament (November 5, 2021).

He highlighted that the pacy format of the game helps the players make a quick decision as well as improve their confidence.

"Playing Futsal Improves player’s decision-making skills. The game needs players with more touches on the ball. The heavier ball increases the power of players. It develops their confidence to go 1v1 against their opponent," he continued, "It increases their aerobic capacity and cardiovascular health, lowers body fat and improves muscle tone. Futsal helps them build strength, flexibility and endurance and increase muscle and bone strength." He opined that these competitions always prove to be a perfect launching pad for the youngsters and working together will only help the game "get better every day."

“I think the project itself will help us achieve these goals by giving these players more opportunities to play, more opportunities to have more competition on the pitch. This is an important part of the development of every player. This is the way we have to work – understanding, adapting, improvising and making changes when you need – all of us are looking to make the quality of futsal in India better every day.”
