AIFF Media Team NEW DELHI: The Indian U-17 Head Coach Nicolai Adam made a stop in Guwahati on Friday (May 22, 2015) to scout talented and skilful Players for the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017 from the state of Assam. Adam, who prior to this had visited Goa, Jharkhand and Kerala, was accompanied by his deputy Coach Etibar Ibrahimov and Pitam Singh. The U-17 Head Coach and his Team will be assessing the 50 best Talents present in the state of Assam, which will be provided to them by the Assam Football Association, following a preliminary selection at Sarusajai Sports Complex. Speaking on the occasion, Nicolai said preparing a strong competent Team for the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017 stays important. “As a host Nation, India must do well in the U-17 World Cup. But the standards of the other nations are high as well, so we need a Team which can compete with the other Teams as well”. The U-17 Head Coach also emphasized on the importance of exposure trips as they will help the Team to evolve and gather experience of playing against better Teams. Nicolai and his coup departs Guwahati on Sunday (May 24, 2015).
