India u-16 colts go down fighting

NEW DELHI: The Indian U-17 World Cup Squad lost 3-5 to Germany’s Unterhatching on Saturday (August 29, 2015) at the DFI Artificial Ground in Germany.

The U-17 World Cup Squad is currently on an exposure trip in Germany, from where they will touch Iranian shores to participate in the AFC U-16 Qualifiers, which are slated to kick-off in Tabriz City.

The Indian colts succumbed to two early goals against the German club, as their opponents scored in quick succession in the 4th minute and in the 5th minute.

The Indian contingent halved their deficit in the 15th minute when Aman blasted his opportunity into the back of the net top the goal scoring tally for India.

Three minutes later Aniket scored to equalize the deficit.

Two halves of forty five minutes each comprised the match and at the end of the first half, both Teams went into the dressing room on level pegging.

Changing over, and the German opposition scored in the 55th minute to take a solitary goal lead. Shortly after, the German opponents scored in the 70th and 73rd minute to extend their lead.

The Indian colts pulled a goal back in the dying embers of the match as Nong scored in the 80th minute. However, at full-time the scoreline read 3-5.

The Indian contingent had earlier defeat FC Ingolstadt 1-0 on August 27, 2015.
