Premkumar Singh replaces an injured Arindam

NEW DELHI: Royal Wahingdoh FC Goalkeeper Laishram Premkumar Singh has been called in as a replacement for Arindam Bhattacharya in the 38-member Probable list for India’s back to back 2018 World Cup Preliminary Joint Qualification matches against Oman and Guam respectively.

Premkumar has been summoned by National Coach Stephen Constantine for his “inspiring performances” in the Hero I-League after Kalyani Bharat FC Goalkeeper Bhattacharya suffered an injury in the ongoing edition of the Hero I-League.

India play their first match at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on June 11 while the next match against Guam will be played on June 16. India have been clubbed in Group D along with Iran, Oman, Turkmenistan and Guam.

The list of 38 probables would be trimmed down to 26 after May 31 before the Preperatory Camp in Bengaluru kicks-off.
