NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation (AIFF), in its bid to strengthen young talent identification, initiated central trials for 192 U16 girls from the nation from Monday, August 18, 2025, in Hyderabad.

This pool of 192 U16 women footballers was scouted from multiple school competitions, junior National Football Championships, and through a wide range of platforms and leagues, including the Asmita Women’s Football Leagues, Dream Sports Tournament, IWL-2, and various state-level open trials conducted by AIFF. The central trials will narrow the pool further, with top players advancing to the final round.

This initiative falls under the AIFF-FIFA Talent Development Scheme, which focuses on identifying and nurturing young players for the Talent Academy.
