The new hire will be a key leadership role within the AIFF, responsible for overseeing and managing the entire scouting department. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing effective scouting strategies, establishing a network of scouts, and contributing to the identification and recruitment of top football talent across the country. Additionally, the Head of Scouting will liaise with Regional Talent ID Consultants and the FIFA TDS team for cross-functional projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

Develop and implement comprehensive scouting strategies aligned with the AIFF's goals and objectives. Collaborate with other departments to ensure scouting efforts are integrated into the overall football development plan.

Team Management:

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of scouts, providing guidance on talent identification methodologies and best practices. Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of scouting staff.

Scouting Network:

Coordinate with the Regional Talent ID Consultants (RTIC) and establish and maintain a nationwide network of scouts, ensuring coverage across various regions and age groups. Foster relationships with local football associations, clubs, and academies to enhance scouting capabilities.

Talent Identification:

Oversee the scouting process, from initial identification to the assessment of potential talents.

Implement standardized evaluation criteria and ensure consistency in scouting reports.

Data Analysis:

Utilize data analytics tools to analyze scouting data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Provide regular reports to senior management on scouting activities, player profiles, and emerging talents.

Collaboration with Coaches:

Work closely with coaching staff to align scouting efforts with the specific needs of various age groups and playing styles. Facilitate seamless communication between scouting and coaching departments.

Budget Management:

Develop and manage the scouting budget, ensuring optimal utilization of resources for effective talent identification. Provide financial forecasts and reports to support budgetary decision-making.

Networking and Liaison:

Represent the AIFF at national and international scouting forums and events. Build relationships with scouts, agents, and other stakeholders to enhance the AIFF's scouting capabilities. Liaise with Regional Talent ID Consultants and the FIFA TDS team for cross-functional projects, ensuring effective collaboration on talent identification initiatives.
