NEW DELHI: The India eFootball (console) team will participate in the FIFAe World Cup 2025 Regional Online Qualifiers (ROQ) for the Asia East & Oceania region from September 24 to 27, 2025. India have been drawn into Group A, alongside Malaysia, Thailand, Guam, Myanmar, Macau, Bhutan, and Brunei Darussalam.
India will be represented by Abhishek Dhar, Chinmay Sahoo, Ibrahim Gulrez and Mahendra Chawda.
In the Group Stage, teams will compete in a double round-robin format, with each match conducted as a best-of-one encounter against every other team in the group. The top four teams from each group will advance to the Knockout Stage, which follows a double elimination bracket.
Knockout rounds will consist of best-of-two matches decided by aggregate scores, with a golden goal match used if aggregate scores are tied after both legs. From the knockout rounds, the winners of the upper bracket semi-finals and the winner of lower bracket Round 3 will earn qualification for the FIFAe Finals in Riyadh in December 2025.
India’s first match in Group A is scheduled on 24 September 2025, where the eTigers will face Bhutan. The ROQ will be streamed live on Indian Football’s official YouTube and Twitch channels.
The eTigers squad selection was done based on the domestic qualifiers held on September 6, 2025. Ibrahim Gulrez (from Karnataka) and Chinmay Sahoo (from Odisha), being the winners of the domestic qualifiers, and Mahendra Chawda (from Maharashtra) and Abhishek Dhar (from Karnataka), being the runner-ups, were selected for the squad.
