SEEB, OMAN: East Bengal FC were held to a 0-0 draw by Oman's Al Seeb Club in their third match of the AFC Champions League Two 2026-27 Group D at the Al Seeb Stadium in Seeb, Oman, on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.
The draw kept India’s East Bengal in third spot on two points, while Al Seeb are one adrift at the halfway mark of the group stage. Both sides will meet again on Matchday Four on November 3 in Kolkata. Al Shorta of Iraq are currently top with seven points, followed by Al Hussein of Jordan with five.
Playing in front of their fans, Al Seeb started brightly as Abdulmageed Al Balushi tested Phurba Lachenpa with a stinging shot in the eighth minute.
Abdulaziz Al Maqbali then went on a dribble on the left flank before teeing up Ahmed Al Riyami for a left-footed curler from the edge of the box that just missed the mark.
East Bengal grew into the match with David Lalhlansanga and Anwar Ali both having attempts from similar positions, the former drawing a save from Muatasim Al Wahaibi while the latter fired over under pressure from Al Riyami.
The away side carved out the first opportunity in the second half, Edmund Lalrindika showing a turn of pace to leave Hassan Al Ajmi behind, but fired over the bar from a good position inside the box in the 49th minute.
Augustine Oladapo then got the crowd on their feet in anticipation when the midfielder chipped the ball forward for Axel Meye, only for the forward to drag his effort across the face of East Bengal’s goal.
The lack of finishing persisted with both teams, and despite several opportunities to take the win, neither side could capitalise and had to settle for a share of the points.
