MAPUSA, GOA: The Indian Arrows Women Juniors gained their second consecutive victory in the Final Rounds of the Indian Women’s League 2, defeating Sesa Football Academy 5-0 at the Duler Stadium on Sunday, May 11, 2025. The Arrows led 3-0 at the break.

Anita Dungdung (20’, 44’, 53’, 74’) was the star of the show, netting two goals in each half, while Anushka Kumari (39’) scored the other goal as the Arrows cruised to six points on the points table. They are, however, second, behind Garhwal United FC, only on goals for. Arrows and Garhwal United FC will meet in the next matchday on May 13, with the winner guaranteeing promotion to next season's IWL.

Anita began the onslaught when she was played in behind the SESA defence courtesy an aerial through ball from Anushka. The former brought it down acrobatically within a tight space and chipped it over an advancing goalkeeper to break the deadlock.

Anushka went from provider to scorer towards the end of the first half, when she was played into acres of space in the SESA box by Arrows captain Julan Nongmaithem. The crafty midfielder subtly poked the ball past SESA keeper Ria Rajesh.

Anita made it three at the stroke of half-time with a shot into the top corner from the edge of the box. She completed her hat-trick with a smart finish past the keeper in a one-on-one opportunity after the restart, before scoring her fifth with another shot from the edge of the box.
