NEW DELHI: A goal in each half by Milan Basumatary and Kapil Boro gave the All India Football Federation’s Regional Academy, Navi Mumbai a 2-0 victory against Union Bank of India (UBI) at the Fr. Agnel's Ground, Vashi in a Friendly Match. This was the Academy Team’s 12th consecutive victory on the trot.

Union Bank of India who feature in the top-flight of Mumbai Football, the MDFA Elite Division, came into the match as the favourite.

The deadlock was broken as early as the 9th minute when Milan latched on to a through ball by Kamalpreet Singh and unleashed a powerful shot which dipped viciously and crashed into the back of the net.

The Academy midfield trio of Hayden Fernandes, Robinson Singh and Moinuddin Khan had an eventful outing, working tirelessly in the middle of the park.

Kapil Boro doubled the lead in the 76th minute when he was quick to react to latch onto a rebound inside the penalty area and effortlessly placed the ball into the far corner to make it 2-0.
