All India Football Federation’s U-15 Kolkata Regional Academy defeated Kolkata’s Uttarpara Academy 2-1 in a Friendly Match played at the Pailan World School Campus. Uttarpara Academy boys were represented by U-19 boys.

Nuruddin scored the winner in the 65th minute from the spot after Anirudh Thapa had given the Kolkata Academy boys the lead in the 24th minute. This was the Boys’ fifth consecutive victory. They had earlier beaten Prayag United’s U-19 Team, East Bengal’s U-19 Team, Khidderpore Club’s Senior Team and Bidhannagar Academy U-19 boys.

The U-15 Regional Academy boys are presently preparing for U-16 International Competitions. They would first be playing at U-16 SAFF Championship in July and then at the AFC U-16 Qualifiers in September.

Head Coach Goutam Ghosh was effusive in praise about the fighting spirit of his wards.

“The way my boys played today showed that they are developing the right kind of attitude with every game. Their shoulders never droop, and they are always on their toes looking to pounce on every opportunity. This ‘never say die’ attitude is heartening to see,” he told www.the-aiff.com.
