LUDHIANA: Manipur Police put up another great show as they demolished Bangalore United by a massive margin of 10-0 at the Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana, on Saturday.

Captain Bala Devi was on song yet again, as she scored six goals against a hapless Bangalore United defence, that had probably seen better days.

Manipur Police got the early start as Bala Devi scored on the third minute to put her side in front. She was on red-hot form, as she went on to add two more in quick succession, as she completed her hat-trick within the 16th minute with a fabulous goal where she dribbled past five defenders, before slipping it past Bangalore keeper Crystal Ann Pinto.

Daya Devi added two more goals in the first half, interspersed by yet another Bala goal, as Manipur headed into the tunnel with the score already reading 6-0 in their favour.

It did not take them long to get going in the second half either, as Salam Rinaroy Devi scored one just a minute before Bala added her fifth goal of the match. The Manipur captain could have added a sixth soon after, but for the heroics of Pinto, who tipped it onto the crossbar.

Mandakini Devi added a ninth for Manipur, before Bala slipped into the Bangalore box and put a left-footer past the keeper, to equal the scoreline that they had achieved against SAI-STC Cuttack, earlier this month.

With this, they finish second in Group II with 12 points, while Bangalore United end their campaign on the second-last spot in the same group, with just four.
