GOALS GALORE ON DAY 1 OF IWL QUALIFIERS

KOLHAPUR: The first day of the 2nd edition of the Hero Indian Women's League got underway with the Qualifiers stage today at Kolhapur. The day's action saw a flurry of goals being scored in both the matches as Sethu FC thumped Baroda Football Academy 16 - 0, while Rising Students Club beat Jammu & Kashmir State Sports Council 8 - 0.

Sethu FC dominated the entire duration of the match, scoring goals at regular intervals to secure victory for the team from Tamil Nadu. Sumitra from Sethu FC was adjuged the Player of the Match.

In the 2nd game of the day Rising Students Club outclassed Jammu & Kashmir in the 1st half before the girls from the north produced a strong performance in the 2nd half but it was too little too late. Pyari Xaxa from Rising Students Club was awarded the Player of the Match award for her performance.
