CUTTACK: Moments after JSW Bengaluru FC lifted the Hero Federation Cup after defeating Mohun Bagan 2-0 in a final largely dominated by the Blues, Bengaluru FC’s Head Coach Alberto Roca attributed the win to the tenacity displayed by the players. Speaking in the official post match press conference, Roca said, “I am a very very happy man today”

“We had a plan and that plan worked. Players have executed the plan perfectly with no mistakes and we deserve to win the trophy”

“It was an emotional ride for us since both Sunil (Chhetri) and Cameron (Watson) were out of the final but we had kept enough calm in the extra time and we were lucky we scored.

When inquired what is game plan was, Roca quipped, “We knew we had to control the ball and find the gaps. Mohun Bagan have really good strikers and our best form of defence was attack:

“We are very happy to win the match and everything worked according to plan as we had chalked out with the coach”, added Amrinder Singh, who was adjudged man of the match, sitting besides Roca.

Earlier in the post match press conference, Mohun Bagan’s Head Coach Sanjoy Sen had said, “Bengaluru FC were the better side and they deserve to lift the trophy”
