NEW DELHI:  An impressive and splendid performance by the Indian U-17 World Cup Squad, currently on an exposure trip in Germany, saw them defeat JFG Mangfalltal’s U-19 Team 5-2 on Saturday (August 1, 2015) in Germany.

Three late goals in the second half sealed the fixture for the Indian colts as they culled their second win on the trot.

Domination seemed to be the word of the day, as the Indian colts attacked and pressurized their German opposition from the kick-off; and eventually took an early lead in the 12th minute through Sanjeev’s mellow strike.

Albeit JFG equalized their deficit minutes later, courtesy of a penalty kick, the Indian colts seldom lost spirit and attacked in hordes to gain advantage again. Komal did sheer justice to the opportunity gifted to him by a tacky one-touch play in the center field by Suresh and Amarjeet, and scored, to put the Colts back in-charge of the match.

Although the Indian colts dominated possession and controlled the tempo of the match, both Team went into the half-time on level pegging as the German opposition scored from a free-kick scenario in the dying embers of the first half.

Changing over, and the Indian colts took the game by the scruff of its neck as they showcased fluid attacking football, highlighted with a streak of glorious opportunities which although went abegging.

Two back to back chances were squandered by the Indian colts around the 65th minute marker, as they pressed on for the decisive goal.

With finesse and attacking craftiness, the Indian colts finally breached the German defensive lines in the 79th minute when Aniket blasted his opportunity into the back of the net. A quaggy German defence gave way to two back to back goals minutes later, as the Indian Colts sealed their second victory of the exposure campaign.
