They have not only topped Group A with 11 points – netting a total of 19 goals from five matches – but have also remained unbeaten throughout the campaign.

Liberian midfielder Bekay Bawar is the topscorer for the team with 5 goals, and he is closely followed by Indian forward Jackichand Singh and Japanese attacker Atsushi Yonezawa, who have 4 goals each to their names.

The Club have registered 29 players for the 2nd Division Final Round, out of which, four are overseas players – Bekay (Liberian), Babatunde Badmus (Nigerian), Loveday Okechukwu (Nigerian), and Atsushi (Japanese).

Local lads Milancy Khongstia and Randhan Meitei are the youngest players in the Squad. While the former was adjudged the Most Promising Player of Shillong Premier League 2012, Meitei received an India U-22 Camp call-up.

Wahingdoh’s preparation for the Final Round of the competition is taking place at various venues in Shillong, under the watchful eyes of their Head Coach Nandakumar Singh.

“Eight matches in three weeks will be a tough schedule, and each match will be like a final. But, the team has the right balance of experience and youth to get the result. We have to be at our best to get the better out of them.”
