Role Overview:
The Warden will be responsible for the overall welfare, discipline, and daily supervision of residential players at the AIFF-FIFA-Telangana Talent Academy , Hyderabad Telangana. This role is central to creating a safe, structured, and supportive environment that enables young players to thrive both on and off the pitch. The Warden will act as a parental figure and mentor, ensuring that players maintain discipline, hygiene, time management, and emotional well-being while residing in the academy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Residential Life & Welfare
- Supervise day-to-day residential life of players, ensuring a secure and homely atmosphere.
- Oversee discipline, behavior, hygiene, and daily routines (wake-up, meals, study hours, lights-out).
- Maintain a friendly yet firm rapport with players and serve as their first point of contact for personal issues.
2. Health, Safety & Emergency Response
- Monitor the health and well-being of players; coordinate with the medical team for regular checkups or in case of illness/injury.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols in hostels and living quarters.
- Handle emergency situations calmly and effectively, keeping appropriate records and reporting to authorities.
3. Discipline & Behavior Management
- Implement and enforce academy rules and codes of conduct.
- Address issues related to discipline, conflict resolution, bullying, and inappropriate behavior sensitively and firmly.
- Work in collaboration with coaches and counselors on behavioral development.
4. Daily Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with kitchen staff, housekeeping, security, transport, and academy administrators to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Maintain accurate attendance and movement registers for all players.
- Communicate with parents/guardians in coordination with academy management when required.
5. Support for Holistic Development
- Encourage participation in academic, cultural, and life-skills activities.
- Monitor players’ adjustment to residential life and flag psychosocial concerns to counselors or education officers.
- Actively promote values of respect, teamwork, discipline, and personal growth.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a residential warden, hostel manager, or in youth residential care.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work with adolescents from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred:
- Background in physical education, psychology, or social work.
- Prior experience in sports academies or with young athletes.
- Fluency in Telugu, Hindi, and English.
Gender-Specific Notes:
- One male and one female staff will be appointed to cater to the needs of both genders in a respectful and safe environment.
- Staff are expected to uphold gender sensitivity, inclusion, and safeguarding at all times.
