BHAVNAGAR, GUJARAT: Tlangnuam Futsal Club (Mizoram) and South Castle United FA (Karnataka) were confirmed as toppers of Groups C and D, respectively, after the final round of group stage matches in the AIFF Futsal Club Championship 2025-26 at the SAG Indoor Stadium in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, on Monday, June 22, 2026.

In the final Group C match, Tlangnuam FC trounced Coramandal FC (Andhra Pradesh) 13-1, while Young Hearts FC defeated South Castle United FA 5-2 in Group D. Tlangnuam topped Group C with a perfect record of six points. FC Bushahr (Himachal Pradesh) placed second with three points from one win and a loss.

In Group D, Young Hearts FC (Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu) produced an impressive display to enter the quarter-finals. They defeated South Castle United FA 5-2. This saw all three teams in Group D end up with three points each. South Castle United topped the group with a goal difference of plus two, having scored 13 and conceded 11. Young Hearts placed second with a goal difference of plus one, having scored eight and conceded seven. Rajasthan's Ganganagar City FC crashed out with a goal difference of minus three, having found the net 11 times but conceding 14.

Coramandal FC - 1 (Hafis AM 8’)

Much against the run of play after their goalkeeper Rahul KK had warded off many threats from the rampaging Tlangnuam attack, Coramandal took a shock 1-0 lead in the eighth minute. Muhammed Basil sent Hafis AM down the left, and he managed to place past the goalkeeper Malhar Shah even before the defence could regroup.

But that acted like a tonic for Tlangnuam as they restored parity almost instantly, Lalremruata swiftly striking a firm left footer.

There was no looking back for the Mizoram side as their attack gathered steam. With fine triangular movements, they stroked the ball around to keep possession, break clear and then attempt shots at goal. They took the lead in the 14th minute as Rony Lalenkima did a quick turn and fired a left footer into the far post. Lalrinzuala, Lalremruata and Lalrochama were all on target as they converted fine passes at the far post, moving away from the defensive shackles and taking a strong 5-1 lead at half-time.

On resumption, it was all Tlangnuam as they outplayed Coramandal and scored eight more goals with almost every threatening move. Lalremruata blocked goalkeeper Rahul’s clearance, and the ball rolled into the empty net for his third goal. Laltluangzela struck twice with angled shots, while Lalremtluanga and Roluahpuia fired home one goal each.

Laltluangzela then completed the tally with his third goal, slamming home a nice move as captain David Laltansanga pushed across a pass from Roluahpuia for him to finish it off. Tlangnuam, which had beaten FC Bushahr 14-2, thus raced away to a magnificent 13-1 victory in the end to top Group C with six points from two wins. Coramandal, who lost 5-9 to FC Bushahr, suffered their second loss and bowed out.

South Castle United FA - 2 (V Surendra Prasad 29’ G Suresh 32’)

Young Hearts FC had lost to Ganganagar City FC 3-5, but the latter were themselves beaten 11-6 by South Castle United. Yet, Young Hearts put up a brave-hearted display against South Castle United and took a commanding 5-0 lead at the end of the first half.

They did not score any in the second but produced a gallant defensive display to prevent their opponents from scoring more than what was needed to knock them out. South Castle scored two late goals that saw them take top spot in the group.

Ahammad Swafwan gave them the lead in the very fourth minute with a quick strike from close. But South Castle United took control of the game and had the ball to themselves for long spells. They tried to attack more from the flanks, with even goalkeeper Abhishek Ramesh joining in to provide passes. Narendra Prasad and Surendra Prasad tried to work their way down the right and left, but South Castle were prone to counters when losing possession.

Young Hearts defended dourly and had almost three men positioned in front of goal at most times. All the possession meant nothing as South Castle failed to find the equaliser. On the counter, Don Remedios sent a left footer to the near post, and Abhishek let it slip through his fingers as Young Hearts led 2-0.

Launching a raid in the middle, Suresh took a snapshot which came off the bar. Dulfukhar Ali latched onto it and chipped the ball into the vacant goal with Abhishek out of his charge. Dulfukhar got his second as he dispossessed Vishnu Vardhan and Abhishek to make it 4-0. South Castle brought in Kevin Koshy in the goal, but Kevin too left his cage vacant, and Sagar Powar made no mistake, lobbing it in from inside his own half as Young Hearts led 5-0 at the breather.

Putting up a defensive block, Young Hearts were determined to protect their lead. They stayed back in numbers and denied South Castle United openings. Surendra Prasad did score in the 29th minute, while G Suresh added another in the 32nd minute. The goals did not alter the result but allowed South Castle United to qualify as group toppers on goal difference along with runners-up Young Hearts, while Ganganagar City bowed out.
