NEW DELHI: In a bid to further strengthen the squad, Shillong Lajong Football Club has completed the signing of Durga Boro. The twenty-seven year old Striker hails from Assam and has played for Oil India before signing for Churchill Brothers in 2009.
Expressing pleasure over the Club’s new signing, Mr. Larsing Sawyan, General Secretary of Shillong Lajong Football Club, said: “We are extremely happy to have Durga Boro in Lajong. Durga is a striker with a lot of potential and we were very interested in signing him back in 2009. However, Durga had already signed for Churchill Brothers by then. We wish him luck and hope that he will play an important role for the Club in the remaining matches.”
The skilful Durga, who has also represented his State in various Regional and National Tournaments, stated he was “excited to be a part of the Club.”
“Hailing from the North East, I am excited to be part of Lajong. I look forward to contribute with my efforts in the Airtel I-League Matches to help the Club become successful.”
