BHAVNAGAR, GUJARAT: Group A winners Corbett FC (Himachal Pradesh) will meet Group B runners-up Goal Hunterz FC (Delhi), while Group B winners Progressive Sports Academy (Gujarat) will clash with Group A runners-up Build Up Sports (Madhya Pradesh) in the quarter-finals of the AIFF Futsal Club Championship 2025-26.

In the final matches in Group A and B at the SAG Indoor Stadium in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, on Sunday, June 21, 2026, Corbett FC defeated Ponda Footballers (Goa) 6-1 to take the top spot in Group A with six points out of six. Build Up Sports finished second with three points, having beaten the Goan side in the first match. Ponda Footballers thus crashed out, having lost both matches in the group.

In Group B, already-eliminated Minerva Academy FC (Punjab) produced a lion-hearted display to come from behind and hold defending champions Goal Hunterz FC to a thrilling 5-5 draw, but it was still enough for the Delhi side to make it into the last eight as runners-up.

In another Group B match, home side Progressive Sports Academy trounced Millat FC (Maharashtra) 10-1 to top Group A with seven points.

The other two quarter-final clashes will be decided after the last round of matches in Groups C and D are completed on Monday, June 22, 2026.

Ponda Footballers 1 (Michael Silva 35’)
lost to
Corbett FC 6 (Lalmuansanga Sailung 12’ 39’ Jonathan Lalrawngbawla 18’ PC Lalruatsanga 28’ Pratik Swami 32’ Fredsan Marshall 40’)

Riding on goalkeeper Vishal Dube’s fine showing, Corbett FC produced another brilliant display to get the better of Ponda Footballers. Their ability to stretch play to the flanks and then find gaps through the centre to set up scoring chances, not to mention their superior individual skills. Ponda Footballers had fought hard to keep the scoreline down to just two goals at half-time, but Corbett proved too strong ultimately.

Ponda did manage to keep possession for long spells, but every time they aimed for the goal, Dube brought off fine saves to deny them success.

After being denied a goal till 12 minutes into the first half, Corbett broke the deadlock as skipper Pratik Swami and Lalruamsanga moved in tandem for Lalmuansanga Sailung to push the ball in from close on the left. They found the second as Jonathan Lalrawngbawla sent a low drive all along the floor into the right corner off a free-kick from about 15 yards out two minutes before the breather.

Corbett played with a lot of assurance after sitting pretty with a two-goal cushion but survived a close call when Ponda’s Muktiar Shaikh failed to fill an empty net after the ball deflected off Vishal Dube.

Swami again did the spadework as he nutmegged Chrisval Gonsalves for PC Lalruatsanga to slam home on the run in the 28th minute. Swami got onto the scoring sheet when he toed home Lalrawngbawla's clever back heel.

A similar back heel by Ponda's Ashwell Peixoto saw Michael Silva rush in to slam it home to reduce the margin to 1-4.

But Corbett struck two more within the final two minutes as Sailung and Fredsan Marshall were on target to make it a convincing win in the end.

Minerva Academy FC 5 (Md Azam Khan 24’ 35’ 36’ Shamshad Ali 28’ 38’)
drew with
Goal Hunterz FC 5 (Mukul Singh Shoun 7’ 23’ Bijoy Gusai 24’ 29’ Mahip Adhikari 38’)

The closeness of the contest was evident from the fact that the first half produced just one goal. Bijoy Gusai sent a long shot towards the goal. Minerva goalkeeper Amit Shaw failed to clear properly, and Mukul Singh Shoun was on hand to push it home and give Goal Hunterz a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute.

For the rest of it, the ball moved around in midfield with some long shots flying across the edges of the cage. Mahip Adhikari did well to cheat down goalkeeper Aleef Rahaman Mollah’s throw and put Krishan Kumar in possession, but Shaw prevented entry. The defences were compact with not many openings on offer as the teams trooped out for the breather.

Gusai turned provider and then scorer, enabling the holders Goal Hunterz to breathe a little more freely as they made it 3-0 by the 23rd minute. He cleverly gave a back pass off a corner for Shoun to finish off well, and then, finding Shaw off his line, filled the net after Milind Negi had sent him away down the right.

The trailing Minerva seemed to galvanise themselves for concerted action. Md Azam Khan diverted Himanshu Jangra’s free-kick to make it 1-3. Shamshad Ali then sent a stiff shot which was initially saved by Mollah, but the ball trickled over the line to make it 2-3.

But Gusai made it 4-2 with a rising right footer, and Mahip Adhikari capped a fine move by Gusai and Manav Sharma to further increase the lead to 5-2.

The drama was far from over, though. Employing the powerplay, Minerva brought in outfield player Sandesh Malpote in place of Shaw. Malpote did well to piece together good moves. In the 36th minute, he found Jangra free. The captain sent a firm shot to the goal. It rolled past the goal, and Khan pushed it home to make it 3-5. Khan further reduced it to 4-5 almost immediately as he toe-poked the ball between the legs of Negi and Mollah for a double nutmeg as the ball rolled in.

Minerva were not in the mood to give up as the Goal Hunterz looked a bit dazed by the happenings. Gaurav Chadha and Shubham Sanwal knitted together a move and found Shamshad Ali in the centre. The latter arrived at the far post to find the net and the equaliser at 5-5.

Millat FC 1 (Sunny Koli 17’)
lost to
Progressive SA 10 (Seaon D’Souza 8’ Nikhil Mali 9’ 26’ 27’ 36’ Lalsawmpuia 12’ 15’ 23’ Chaitan Komarpant 17’ 30’)

Progressive Sports Academy gave the sizeable local crowd plenty to cheer about as they produced an impressive attacking display to score goals at will. The lanky Aman Shah and skipper Nikhil Mali were the chief architects of their victory. Shah played the anchor role effectively and not only blocked Millat’s moves, but also opened up the gaps with some astute passing. Mali’s finishing saw him fire away at the first opportunity as the duo got fine support from Lalswampuia, who roamed the floor tirelessly to make himself available for passes at vantage positions.

But it took all of eight minutes for Progressive to open their account. Seaon D’Souza produced a firm rising left footer for their first goal. He had opened the floodgates as well.

As goalkeeper Ishke dropped a Chaitan Komarpant shot, Mali jabbed it in.

Lalswampuia then got into the act and notched up a fine treble, finding the target without blemish off neat passes from Shah and Komarpant. His twin strikes in the 12th and 15th minutes made it 4-0.

Millat then opted to bring in forward Pawan Singh Rawat during the powerplay but paid the penalty dearly. Sunny Koli toed home a Rawat back heel as Progressive wrapped up a 5-1 lead at half-time.

Lalswampuia got his third after the restart while Komarpant found the net twice. Mali was in rousing form and slammed home three more goals to take his tally to four as Millat were unable to come up with any solutions. The home team romped home in style to win 10-1.
