Bottom-of-the-table FC Goa play host to 2014 champions Atlético de Kolkata in Match 47 of Hero Indian Super League 2016 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Thursday. The Gaurs go into this must-win tie having never beaten ATK before. They have also lost six out of their eleven matches so far this season and are in a bad space as regards their semis chances. Two out of their three overall victories, however, have come in their last four matches and that shows they are on the up in terms of performance. Be that as it may, even wins in their last three matches of the league stage don’t guarantee them a knockout appearance. One has to be honest that it will be nothing less than a miracle if they manage to reach their third successive semis. Meanwhile, ATK, besides Delhi Dynamos FC, have the least number of losses so far (2) but they have also drawn the most number of matches (6). In fact, all of their last three matches have ended in draws. They may be in the top half of the table but other teams are not far behind. However, if they win tomorrow they will definitely take a big step towards the semis.
