Datta lauds spirit of fans in Assam

NEW DELHI: AIFF Executive Committee Member Mr. Ankur Datta, also the Vice-Chairman of the I-League lauded the “spirit of fans in Assam,” as the Sport looks forward to a “new revolution in the State.”

“I need to thank the fans in Assam for their stupendous support,” Datta, the Honorary General Secretary of Assam Football Association stated to www.the-aiff.com.

“If the inaugural edition of the Assam Premier League was a huge success, we owe it to the fans. They came in numbers to support us,” he maintained.

“And if you look at the ongoing Hero Indian Super League, an average of around 25000 fans flocked to cheer for North East United every time they played in Guwahati,” he informed.

“The Assam Football Associations stays committed to the development of Football in the State. It’s so heartening to see the youth being involved,” he added.

“Football has caught the imagination of the people in the State. We owe it to them,” he reiterated.
