NEW DELHI: The AIFF U-17 Colts defeated Indonesia’s Daftar Nama Kontingen 2-0 in the Semi-Finals of the ongoing Subroto Cup International Tournament 2015 at the Ambedkar Stadium in the Capital on October 14, 2015.
With this win, the Indian contingent progresses into the Finals of the competition and will clash swords against Manipur on October 16, 2015.
Coming on the back of a 2-1 win over Swedish Club Side BK Hacken, the AIFF U-17 Colts took the lead in the 44th minute, after a goalless stalemate at Half-time. Amal Das tapped the ball home following an Ashraf corner to hand the Indian colts a solitary goal lead.
Two halves of 35 minutes each comprised the match. And in the 55th minute the Indian colts doubled their lead as Bodo slotted home a penalty, after the referee pointed to the spot following an uncanny challenge in the 18 yard box.
The Indian defence thwarted the attacks of the Indonesian side and at the end of time the scoreline read 2-0 in favor of the AIFF U-17 colts.
