The All India Football Federation (AIFF) condoles the untimely demise of former India International and Coach of the Tata Football Academy (TFA) Mr. P. Vijay Kumar. After making his debut for India on September 01, 1981 against New Zealand in the Merdeka Cup, Vijay Kumar went on to represent India on the grand stage 10 more times, scoring once against Poland in the 1988 Nehru Cup.

Domestically, Vijay Kumar was part of the 1988 Santosh Trophy winning Bengal squad and in the same Tournament he scored the winning goal against Goa in the Semi-finals. Kumar was also plied his trade for Mohammedan Sporting from 1986-88.
