Role Overview:

The Venue Operations Manager (VOM) for the Indian Super League is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and executing all venue-related operations to ensure seamless delivery of ISL matches. The role involves working closely with clubs, stadium authorities, AIFF, service providers, and multiple stakeholders to ensure venues meet ISL operational, technical, commercial, broadcast, and safety standards before, during, and after match days.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Governance, Reporting & Compliance

  • Report to and act on all directions issued by the ISL Management Company or its nominees.
  • Ensure compliance with ISL regulations, AIFF competition guidelines, and club agreements.
  • Prepare and submit match reports, compliance documents, and post-match operational reports.

2. Venue Readiness & Infrastructure Management

  • Coordinate with clubs, stadium authorities, and agencies to ensure venues are fully match-ready.
  • Oversee repair, renovation, and infrastructure upgrades, including:
    • Field of Play (FOP)
    • Player, match officials, and media facilities
    • Spectator facilities
  • Ensure all functional rooms are set up as per ISL and AIFF guidelines.
  • Ensure spectator facilities are clean, safe, accessible, and operational.

3. Stakeholder & Agency Coordination

  • Facilitate and manage stadium visits for agencies involved in ISL match delivery, including:
    • Branding & look-and-feel
    • Ticketing and access control
    • Security and safety
    • Broadcast and TV production
    • Hospitality operations
    • Sponsors, vendors, and commercial partners
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with:
    • Club logistics and operations teams
    • Stadium management and public authorities
    • Venue decision-making stakeholders
  • Coordinate with ISL and clubs to ensure all operational and commercial deliverables are met.

4. Match Operations (Pre-Match & Match Day)

  • Lead all pre-match venue operations, including:
    • Venue setup and readiness
    • Sponsor and LED perimeter board installations
    • Concession and fan engagement setups
    • Entertainment and match presentation coordination
    • Security planning and deployment
    • Team, match officials, and referee transport
  • Liaise with ISL, clubs, AIFF, and the Match Commissioner to conduct pre-match coordination meetings.
  • Manage and oversee all match day venue operations in alignment with ISL standards.

5. Commercial, Ticketing & Hospitality Operations

  • Coordinate with ticketing agencies and clubs to ensure sponsor and commercial deliverables are executed.
  • Coordinate with hospitality managers appointed by ISL and clubs to ensure smooth operation of hospitality areas.
  • Oversee storage, movement, and security of ISL and venue materials.

6. Accreditation & Access Management

  • Coordinate with ISL-appointed accreditation/security managers to ensure accreditation systems are in place prior to each match.
  • Assist with Security Access Device (SAD) distribution.
  • Coordinate with club accreditation teams and AVOM for installation of accreditation badge boards at the venue.

7. On-Field & Technical Operations

  • Ensure all on-field and technical equipment is installed and operational prior to kick-off, including:
    • LED perimeter boards
    • Centre circle and 3D branding mats
    • Dugouts and technical areas
    • Medical infrastructure and emergency response requirements
    • Pitch markings, flags, and match equipment
  • Coordinate with medical consultants and phlebotomists for RAT testing and other medical protocols on match days.

8. Logistics & Transportation

  • Coordinate local transport arrangements for teams, match officials, and ISL central teams.
  • Ensure seamless movement and logistics for all stakeholders involved in match delivery.

9. Documentation & League Support

  • Assist with documentation and operational reporting for the Indian Super League.
  • Coordinate with venue and central ISL teams to ensure all competition-related requirements are met.

10. Additional Responsibilities

  • Oversee club deliverables relating to facilities for all central stakeholders.
  • Perform any other venue operations–related duties as required by ISL in connection with the VOM role.

Preferred Skills & Experience (Optional Section)

  • Minimum of 3 years of Experience in venue, stadium, or large-scale sports event operations preferably the Indian Super League.
  • Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of football match operations, broadcast, and security protocols
  • Ability to work under pressure and on match days, weekends, and holidays
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
