Employment Type: Full-time | Fixed-Term (FIFA TDS Project)
Role Overview:
The Strength & Conditioning Coach will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring physical conditioning programs tailored to the needs of academy players. This includes developing strength, endurance, agility, mobility, and recovery strategies to enhance football performance and reduce injury risk.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Performance Conditioning
- Design age-appropriate strength and conditioning programs in alignment with long-term athlete development (LTAD) principles.
- Conduct regular fitness assessments to track progress and inform individualised plans.
- Implement injury prevention and warm-up/cool-down protocols.
2. Training Integration
- Collaborate with football coaches to integrate S&C sessions into weekly training schedules.
- Monitor physical load, fatigue, and readiness using appropriate tools (e.g., RPE, heart rate monitoring, wellness surveys)
- Load Management GPS monitoring
- Weekly GPS Reports
3. Injury Management & Recovery
- Support rehabilitation protocols in coordination with the physiotherapist and medical team.
- Oversee recovery strategies. Intervene latest evidence-based Recovery protocols accordingly
4. Player Education
- Conduct workshops or group discussions on topics like nutrition, recovery, injury prevention, and self-care.
- Foster awareness among young athletes about body mechanics, posture, and athletic habits.
5. Data Monitoring & Reporting
- Maintain updated fitness records and share monthly performance reports with the academy and AIFF’s TDS core team.
- Collecting baseline data of each athlete's Physical Maturation
- Use software or spreadsheets for data entry, monitoring trends, and evaluating KPIs.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field.
- Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach (CSCS, ASCA, NASM, or equivalent).
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience working with youth athletes in a structured sports program.
- Understanding of LTAD, youth physiology, and safe training techniques.
- Fluency with MS Office
- Youth Academy Experience or Working with a team sport would be preferred
