Type: Full-time | Residential | Fixed-Term (FIFA TDS Project)
Role Overview
The Lead Coach will be responsible for the planning, delivery, and evaluation of the academy’s technical football program in line with the AIFF’s long-term player development pathway and FIFA’s global standards under the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS). The role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to mentor young footballers and coaching staff in a residential academy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Program Leadership
- Develop and implement daily, weekly, and seasonal training plans based on the AIFF national curriculum.
- Deliver sessions that support technical, tactical, physical, and psychological player development.
- Tailor content for different phases of development and positional roles.
- Matchday Coaching & Performance Review
- Lead team preparation, in-game management, and post-match evaluation.
- Integrate match analysis and provide constructive feedback to players and staff.
- Individual Player Development
- Create and maintain Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for each player.
- Monitor player progress through regular assessments and collaborate with support staff on tailored interventions.
- Coaching Team Management
- Supervise Assistant Coaches, Performance Analysts, Physiotherapists, and S&C staff.
- Conduct regular team meetings, session reviews, and internal capacity-building sessions.
- Safeguarding & Player Welfare
- Ensure all players, especially minors, are treated with care, respect, and protection in line with AIFF’s safeguarding policy.
- Promote a culture of responsibility, inclusivity, and discipline within the academy.
- Reporting & Communication
- Submit weekly training reports, player evaluations, and progress summaries to the FIFA Talent Coach
- Maintain open communication with the AIFF technical department and TDS national monitoring unit.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Valid AFC 'A' License or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience coaching at a professional club, national academy, or elite youth development program
- Proven ability to manage youth teams and staff in a high-performance environment
- Strong understanding of age-appropriate training methodology and LTAD (Long-Term Athlete Development)
- Willingness to live and work full-time in a residential academy environment
Preferred:
- Experience working with national teams or in international development programs
- Familiarity with AIFF’s national curriculum or FIFA TDS frameworks
- Proficiency in using performance analysis tools and digital platforms
- Fluency in English and Hindi (Telugu will be an added advantage)
