NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) and the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) have launched a new animated safeguarding video series aimed at raising awareness about child safety in football.

The 'Kick Off Project', initiated by SAFF, seeks to educate and empower young players, parents, and coaches through engaging, age-appropriate animated content.

Designed for children aged nine to 16 years, the series addresses key safeguarding topics such as sexual abuse, mental abuse, bullying, neglect, and physical abuse. Each video has been carefully developed to ensure that these sensitive subjects are presented in a manner that is both informative and suitable for a young audience.

Through these accessible and visually engaging animations, the campaign aims to empower children to recognise, respond to, and report unsafe situations, while fostering a culture of safety, dignity, and accountability within the football ecosystem.

To maximise reach and inclusivity, the videos have been dubbed in seven Indian languages — Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, and Telugu — ensuring that safeguarding education is available and relatable to diverse communities across the country.

The first episode of the “Kick Off” animated series has been released on the Indian Football YouTube Channel. Four more episodes will be released in due course.
