NEW DELHI: Manipur and Uttar Pradesh continued their winning momentum in Group B matches of the 30th Senior Women’s National Football Championship for Rajmata Jijabai Trophy 2025-26 Final Round at the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama Ground in Narainpur, Chhattisgarh, on Monday, October 6, 2025.

While defending champions Manipur thrashed Assam 6-0, Uttar Pradesh eased past Haryana 2-0. The victory helped Manipur to go to the top of the group with six points from two matches. Uttar Pradesh are second with the same number of points, but Manipur have a better goal difference. With the third consecutive loss, Haryana, who have been two-time finalists in the past, are eliminated from the competition.

Manipur 6 (Lynda Kom Serto 21', 41', 84', Khumukcham Bhumika Devi 45', Dangmei Grace 82', Oinam Babita Devi 90+7')

Assam 0

Lynda Kom Serto emerged as the star of the show as she netted a hat-trick in Manipur’s victory. Dangmei Grace, Khumukcham Bhumika Devi, and Oinam Babita Devi scored the other goals.

The rout started in the 21st minute when Lynda's long-range effort found the back of the net. Lynda was at it again four minutes before half-time when she jumped over an Assam defender to head home a Phanjoubam Nirmala Devi’s cross from the right.

With a 2-0 lead, Manipur hunted for more goals and tripled their lead at the stroke of half-time. Capitalising on Assam goalkeeper Haripriya Deka’s poor clearance and poor defending, Bhumika Devi displayed her poaching skills as she latched on to a loose ball and slotted it past a hapless Deka.

Manipur kept piling on pressure on Assam's defence and extended their lead in the 82nd minute. It was yet another gift from Deka as her pass fetched Grace at the edge of the box. The seasoned Indian midfielder didn’t make a mistake as she drilled home a right-footer.

Lynda completed her hat-trick three minutes later. A long ball was played from the deep, which Babita Devi laid off for the young striker. Seeing the Assam goalkeeper off her line, the Manipur forward easily lobbed the ball over Deka to celebrate wildly.

Babita Devi completed Assam’s humiliation in the 97th minute when she unleashed a right-footed drive into the back of the net.

Uttar Pradesh 2 (Mamta 19', 31')
beat
Haryana 0

Mamta continued her scoring spree for Uttar Pradesh as she netted a brace to eliminate Haryana from the tournament. She scored both her goals in the first half. Despite Haryana trying to make a comeback, Uttar Pradesh's defence held firm to eke out a win.

The first goal for Mamta came in the 19th minute. Poor defending from Naina allowed Mamta to take control of the ball at the edge of the box, and she calmly slotted the ball past the Haryana goalkeeper to score.

Twelve minutes later, Uttar Pradesh doubled their lead from a set-piece. Mamta’s free-kick from 19 yards was so powerful that Haryana goalkeeper Prikshit failed to keep it out despite getting a hand to it.
