West Bengal 2 (Sulanjana Raul, 11, Rimpa Haldar, 45+2)
beat
Uttar Pradesh 1 (Santosh, 89, p)
Bengal showed their quality and composure under pressure to secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory over a determined Uttar Pradesh side.
Star striker Sulanjana Raul, who has been in prolific form, struck first with her 12th goal of the tournament in the 11th minute. A long ball from defence caused confusion in the Uttar Pradesh backline, allowing Raul to pounce on a hesitant Samiksha, beat her marker and slot in a calm finish past the goalkeeper.
Just before half-time, Rimpa Haldar doubled the lead with a sensational solo goal. Picking up a loose ball in midfield, Haldar charged forward unchallenged and unleashed a swerving long-range effort from 20 yards that dipped into the top-right corner, past a diving Manju in goal.
Uttar Pradesh tried to mount a comeback in the second half and were handed a boost when West Bengal captain Sangita Basfore received her second yellow card in the 63rd minute for a foul on Santosh, leaving her side with ten players.
The pressure finally paid off in the 89th minute when Raul brought down Santosh inside the box. The forward stepped up herself to convert the penalty, but it proved too late as Bengal held on bravely to reach the final.
Manipur 4 (S Lynda Kom, 17, 21, Dangmei Grace, 29, p, Khumukcham Bhumika Devi, 48)
beat
Tamil Nadu 0
Manipur were in imperious form as they swept aside Tamil Nadu in a commanding semi-final display. S Lynda Kom opened the scoring in the 17th minute, showing agility and strength to outfox her marker and fire home. Just four minutes later, she doubled the lead with her ninth goal of the tournament, becoming the third-highest scorer.
The third goal came from the penalty spot in the 29th minute, after Lynda was brought down in the box. Dangmei Grace confidently slotted the penalty past Tamil Nadu’s Sowmiya Narayanasamy in goal.
The rout was completed early in the second half when Khumukcham Bhumika Devi reacted quickest to a rebound from Linthoingambi’s cross, sealing a dominant 4–0 win and Manipur’s place in the final.
