NEW DELHI: Chhattisgarh officially initiated the AIFF Grassroots Development Programme as 24 coaches and over 150 children participated in the first-ever AIFF Grassroots Leaders Course conducted in the state at the Pant Stadium in Bhilai.

The Course was conducted by AIFF Instructors Anju Turambekar and Shailesh Karkera over the four-day period, which involved practical sessions for children's football and futsal as well as wide-ranging topics in the context of Grassroots football.

With the conclusion of the course, plans are already afoot for three more of Grassroots Courses in other districts across the state in the coming months.

"We would like to thank the AIFF for extending their support in Grassroots Development, which is much needed for our State. We are very excited with the roadmap given by the AIFF and this is a great opportunity for us to broaden our vision to develop the game in Chhattisgarh,” said Chhattisgarh Football Association General Secretary Mr Mohan Lal.

“The first-ever course has proved to be a huge boost for this first batch of 24 coaches, and we hope to have hundreds more take in this experience and make their foray into Grassroots football," Mr. Mohan Lal concluded.
