NEW DELHI: Sporting Clube de Goa unveiled former Pailan Arrows defender Deepak Devrani and Goalkeeper Ravi Kumar as their new signings, at the Club’s Training Ground in Panjim on Thursday, a Sporting Clube de Goa Press Release informed.

Deepak who is only 21, started in the East Bengal Youth System, before being picked up to join the Arrows where he spent three seasons.

After playing a handful of games in the first two years, Deepak worked hard to cement his place in the team last season.  He started twenty matches, scored two goals and picked up two Man-of-the-Match Awards despite a knee injury keeping him out midway through the season.

“I enjoyed my time with the Arrows, which enabled me to develop my game under the fantastic coaches and I am very grateful,” stated Deepak.

Ravi joined the Arrows in 2010, but it was not until 2012 that he made his debut in the I-League against Salgaocar where he kept an impressive clean sheet in a goalless draw.

The 20-year old custodian made his debut for the India U-19 team against Turkmenistan in 2012 in the AFC U-19 Championship Qualifiers.

“Every ground we went to there were great Arrows fans cheering us on and we look forward to receiving similar support from the Flaming Oranje supporters,” remarked Ravi.

“Ravi and Deepak have shown glimpses of what they are capable of and the club believes this season they are all set to blossom. I am sure they will settle in quickly and further boost our talented side” stated Sporting Clube de Goa President Peter Vaz.
