NEW DELHI: The India U-15 National Team started its campaign in Thailand with the best possible result, earning a 4-2 victory over Bangkok Glass FC today (Tuesday, July 30, 2019). Sridarth (13', 47', 79') bagged a sublime hat-trick, while Shubho struck once (68') to get past the Thai club in their backyard.

The Colts didn't need to wait more than thirteen minutes when Sridarth headed a perfectly-taken corner by Sibajit home to open the scoring.

Wondsakorn, the Bangkok Glass attacker, drew level seven minutes later from a corner before Sahatsawat struck to earn a lead for the hosts two minutes later.

Maheson put in a brilliant long ball for Sridarth in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper anticipated it rightly to snatch it from the Indian forward's feet.

The scoreline read 2-1 in favour of the hosts at the end of the first half.

Indian boys started to show more intent as the game resumed and they took only two minutes to score. Shubho rolled a through ball to an onrushing Sridarth, who slotted in his second goal in the 47th minute.

At the stroke of the hour-mark, Maheson produced back-to-back efforts, only to see them missing the target by a whisker.

Himanshu Jangra, who replaced Sibajit in the 65th minute, contributed instantly, having provided an assist to Shubho who took the lead for India again.

Shubho was brought down inside the box by a defender in the 79th minute and Sridarth's calm finish from the penalty spot took the scoreline to 4-2 to affirm a comfortable win for India.

India will face Muang Thong in their next match on August 3, 2019. The match will kick-off at 02:30 PM IST.
