THIMPHU (BHUTAN): Days after the Indian U-15 Women’s National Team decimated Sri Lanka 12-0 in their opening match of the SAFF U-15 Championship, there seems to be an air of determination and debonair in the squad.

The Women, although blasted six goals in each half against Sri Lanka, are not over-confident of their abilities and understand the challenges they face when they meet Bhutan next on August 13.

Skipper Shilky Devi who scored a hattrick against Sri Lanka warned, “Bhutan are a strong team and it will be difficult to score against them. Their defence is really compact and will give us some trouble in finding openings”

“We will have to be in our best shape, tactically, if we are to beat them”

Anju who scored a late brace in the last match explained, “The altitude will also be a factor because they are the home team and they are acclimatized to these conditions”

“However, we are ready and raring to go. We want to end the group stages with a win and continue our winning form”

The girls were back to the drawing board a day after the win, while indulging in a recovery session, to fine tune their performance.

“The match against Sri Lanka was just one match, we are here to win the SAFF Championship and for us every match is like a final”, stated Kritina Devi.

“We cannot take any team lightly and although we respect our opponents, we will be playing for a win in all matches”

The Indian Women currently sit top in Group A with three points and will face Bhutan next on August 13, 2018 with a place in the semi-finals all but secured. The semi-finals will kick-off on August 15 while the Final of the SAFF U-15 Championship is slated for August 18, 2018.
