DR. SHAJI PRABHAKARAN ELECTED DELHI SOCCER ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT

NEW DELHI: Former FIFA South Central Asia Development Officer Dr.  Shaji Prabhakaran & Veteran N.  K. Bhatia were elected as Delhi  Soccer  Association (DSA ) President and Treasurer respectively for a term of four years in an Annual General Body meeting held in the capital.   

Besides these two principal office-bearers, Magan Singh Patwal,  Jagdish  Malhotra, and Rajesh Joshi were also elected unopposed joint secretaries. The six vice-presidents elected were Anadi Barua, Anuj  Gupta, Hem Chand, Syed Khurram  Raza, Shonal Gupta, and Sq. Ldr. S. K.  Singh. Besides these, the ten executive elected members were Anand  Dabas, Bankim  Datta,  Benny  Joseph, Hafiz  Shahid, Har  Gopal,  Jaspal Singh, Kamal  Suman,  Mohd.  Aslam, Sunil  Dutt, and V.  C.  Bhatt.  

As many as 70 council members attended the AGM presided over by outgoing president Subhash Chopra who thanked all the members present for their whole hearted support and cooperation during all these years towards the development of the game in the capital city of India.  Out-going Secretary Syed Shaheen convened the meeting.  Retd. High Court Justice S. R. Singh and District Judge Nagar were the returning officers to conduct the elections in a smooth and fair manner.  AIFF observer Col. (Retd.) Brij Mohan Mehta supervised the elections.  Meanwhile, DSA vice-president N. K. Bhatia and Treasurer Hem Chand contested DSA elections for six consecutive terms.
