BENGALURU: A Footballer's life is full of ecstasy, agony, joy and grief. Even after scoring a pitch of a goal, one can succumb to an injury, a sheer torment for any player. Pronay Halder, is going through such a tough phase of his life right now. He is presently putting his heart and soul to get back on the pitch from an aggravated injury which has already cost him almost the entire season.

But even as he is under rehab in his house at Barrackpore, his heart lies in Bengaluru where the National Team gears up to take on the Kyrgyz Republic on June 13.

"I am just helpless. My brothers are tireless training day in and out for the crucial match and I can’t help them. It kills me from within but that’s the harsh reality of life. You have to live up with it,” he says in one breath.

"The Team is gelling so well. We are overcoming one obstacle after another. I understand the Kyrgyz Republic are a very hard opponent. It’s such a crucial match. I am sure everyone will give all they have on the pitch. We have no other option, no other choice,” he states.

“Be it on the pitch or the dressing room, I'm probably one who always shout loud (laughs). Jokes apart, I'm doing the same even now in front of the television. I might be a thousand kilometres away but my soul lies there in the Dressing Room. The Indian National Team is not about the boys who are on the pitch or the dugout, it's an extended family and everyone is a part of it,” the robust midfielder quips.

“I watched the match against Nepal the other day. When Sandesh-bhai scored, I jumped up in joy. The fighting spirit defines the character of our squad. Come on bhai-log. Let’s do it,” you could hear his thunder over the phone. “We need to fight, and we will. I will cheer from my home.”

"I'm under a tough regime and it's getting healed with each passing day. Hopefully, the day is not far when I'll get to sing the National Anthem once again with my brothers in front of the vocal crowds.”
