VERY PROUD OF THE AFC AWARD, JAI HIND: CONSTANTINE

NEW DELHI: December 01, 2016 marked a historic moment for Indian Football when All India Football Federation (AIFF) was awarded the AFC Member Association (Developing) Award for the Year 2016.  The AIFF was nominated along with Member Associations of Vietnam and Malaysia for the Award. 

Expressing his delight, Head Coach of the Indian National Team took to Twitter and through his Official Handle @StephenConstan tweeted, “BEST DEVELOPING NATION Absolutely delighted for everyone connected with Indian football an amazing achievement”

Constantine who led India to the SAFF Suzuki Cup win in early 2016 further added, “A wonderful team effort by Indians in every corner of the country. Really am so very proud of this award Jai Hind

Fantastic a great honour for all,”  Constantine further tweeted.

Praise also came flowing in from Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Mr. Vijay Goel who also took to Twitter to tweet: “Wow! Congratulations to all the officials, players & fans! Your dedication & hard work will surely take #Indian #Football to greater heights”

The prestigious award is given to a Member Association in recognition of its professional administration and governance as well its exceptional contribution to the development and promotion of the game at all levels within the country.

Member Associations are assessed and awarded points on various areas encompassing the association’s activities such as the organisation of courses and seminars, competitions, grassroots and youth development, women’s programmes, social responsibility and special projects.
