NEW DELHI: The AIFF U-17 Colts registered a thumping 10-1 win over LoneStar Kashmir FC in the ongoing U-18 I-League at the Howrah Ground in Kolkata on February 02, 2016.
Coming on the back of a goalless stalemate against DSK Shivajians, the Indian Colts turned on their attacking style as they blasted 4 goals in the first half and 6 in the second, to rout LoneStar Kashmir FC 10-1.
It was Bedeshwor Singh, who opened the floodgates, as early as the first minute itself, when he capitalized on a delightful Nijwm cross on the far post to give the Indian Colts a solitary goal lead.
In the 22nd minute, Edmund blasted his opportunity home following an Anirudh Thapa cross to make it 2-0. Three minutes later, LoneStar Kashmir FC halved their deficit as they scored cleverly from a free-kick scenario to make it 2-1.
The Indian Colts, unfazed from conceding, replied with a flurry of attacks on the opposition citadel and in the 26th minute, Surya tapped home from hand-shaking distance to make the score-line 3-1 in favour of the AIFF U-17 Colts.
In the dying embers of the first half, the Indian Colts were awarded a penalty after the opposition defence handled the ball inside the 18 yard box. Jerry Lalrinzuala slotted the penalty with ease as the half-time score line read 4-1.
The Colts started right off the blocks and scored in the 46th minute when Rahul tapped home a Surya cross to make it 5-1.
Three goals in under 10 minutes gave proof of the Indian Colts’ attacking prowess as Lalengzama scored in the 73rd minute and Prosenjit scored in the 76th and 79th minute to make it 8-1 for the Indian Colts.
In the 85th minute, Lalengzama once again popped up in the 18 yard box and scored to make it 9-1. Thereafter, a late Edmund goal in extra time made the full-time scoreline read 10-1.
