The All India Football Federation (AIFF) condoles the untimely demise of former Tamil Nadu Football Association secretary and former Chairman of AIFF’s Referees Committee, Mr. T.R Govindarajan.

In his tenure as the Secretary of Tamil Nadu Football Association which lasted for more than 20 years, football in Tamil Nadu bloomed as Tamil Nadu performed consistently in the Santosh Trophy. Moreover, the state organized National Level Championships and Federation Cup Championships.

Besides being a National Referee in his hay days and heading the Tamil Nadu Referees Committee, Mr Govindrajan also accompanied the Indian National Team as the Chief-de-mission to Vietnam in 2002, wherein India were crowned Champions of the LG Cup.
