U-17 World Cup Squad thumps SV Wacker Burghausen

NEW DELHI: The Indian U-16 colts, currently on an exposure trip to Germany, defeated SV Wacker Burghausen U-16 4-0 on Saturday (August 22, 2015) in Germany.

Two early goals in the first half, followed by a late Aniket brace constructed the pillars of an Indian win.

The Indian squad came into the match following a 2-2 draw against Austrian Club side AKA Tirol.

The colts edged forward in the 3rd minute of the match as Komal tapped home a delightful cross by Boris.

Four minutes later, the colts doubled their lead as Ninthoiganba blasted his opportunity into the back of the net.

With two halves of forty-five minutes each comprising the duration of the match, the first half came to an end with the scoreline reading 2-0 in favor of the Indian contingent.

Head Coach Nicolai Adam ringed in changes after the first half and shuffled his pack, introducing Samsher, Sharif, Ajaruddin, Lalrintluanga, KP Rahul in place of Nawaz, Susmit, Gaston, Suresh and Komal respectively.

The Indian colts extended their lead in the 65th minute of the match as Aniket sublimely converted his chance following a cross from Rahul.

Aniket added another to his goal scoring tally in the 84th minute to hand the Indian contingent a 4-0 win over their opponents.
