NEW DELHI: The Indian U-14 Boys Team drew 2-2 against Iran in the AFC U-14 Regional Festival Of Football 2015 on Monday (May 25, 2015) at the FC Istiklol Academy Ground in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

The Indian colts started the match on an attacking note, but it was Iran who capitalized and scored against the run of play in the 8th minute, following a corner kick.

However, this did not deter Indian spirits and the U-14 boys came back with a wave of attacks, which paid dividends in the 15th minute; when Bisnu Bordoloi capitalized on an uncanny clearance and drove the ball into the back of the net, to equalize the deficit for India.

The Indian boys fostered an array of chances and in the 22nd minute Bisnu came close to earning the lead for India when his shot flew whiskers wide of the post.

Iran once again capitalized on an uncanny corner clearance from India in added extra time of the first half and scored to lead 2-1 at the end of the first half.

The Indian colts replied with an array of constant attacks in the second half. The relentless pressure by the U-14 boys saw them dominate possession and pinned Iran in their own half.

The constant attack on Iran’s citadel finally paid off in the 48th minute when Ninthoinganga’s rocket-of-a-shot from 30yards blitzed past a hapless goalkeeper and equalized the deficit for India.

Although the Indian colts attacked with fluidity, they were unable to breach Iran’s defence and at the end of time both Teams shared the spoils of battle.
