First-ever Grassroots Course in Gujarat

AIFF Media Team NEW DELHI: The first-ever All India Football Federation Grassroots Course was concluded in the Ahmadabad, Gujarat on Monday (May 19, 2014). The Course was facilitated by Kahani Academy in Gujarat. “We at Kahaani believe that strong root can produce a large and strong tree,” Manisha Shah(Kahani Academy Founder and ADFA committee Member) told www.the-aiff.com. “A child with proper guidance at early age can become a good, strong and passionate sports person. That is why we have decided to do this All India Football Federation Grassroots Course. Kahaani will like to take this Grassroots level to all the districts of Gujarat. We thank AIFF for giving us this opportunity,” she added. This was the ninth AIFF Grassroots Course this year. On last day of the course 120 kids participated in the Football Festival. Ms. Anju Turambekar was the Course Instructor from AIFF. The coaches are all current Grassroots football coaches and are involved in coaching kids between 6-12 year of age. The Course aims to equip the coaches with the know-how in organizing, implementing Grassroots Football. The course ended with a Grassroots festival which was organized by the participants themselves with the guidance of the course Instructor.
