GR Course ends successfully in Coimbatore

AIFF Media Team NEW DELHI: The seventh AIFF Grassroots Course of 2014 ended successfully in Coimbatore today (May 9). A total of 21 Coaches from the District of Coimbatore took part in the Course. This was the second Course in the month of May to be held in Tamil Nadu, with an earlier Course having being held in Nilgiris District. Both were part of the ‘Month of Grassroots Football’ declared by the AIFF. The Course was conducted by AIFF GR Instructor Arindam Biswas and was also attended by AIFF Grassroots Assistant Development Manager Anjana Turambekar. The Course ended with a Festival in which kids participated and played small-sided Games and were involved in technical drills alternately. The next Grassroots Course will be organised by the Western India Football Association in Aurangabad from the May 10-12, 2014 which would be followed by another Course in Ahmedabad in Gujarat and one in Jalandhar in Punjab. The Grassroots Courses is part of a major education and Grassroots Development initiative planned by the AIFF in 2014 to capitalize on the Grassroots Development Programme which kicked-off last year. The entire initiative has received tremendous response from the stakeholders in the Country.
