Sangbad Pratidin Bhawanipore FC 4 (Daniel 36’, 45+1, Snehashish 60’, Abinash 68’)
beat Hindustan FC 1 (Deepak Mehra 18’) AIZAWL: Bhawanipore FC maintained their rich vein of form in the Second Division League 2013/14 as they breezed past Hindustan FC 4-1 on a rainy afternoon at the Lammual Stadium in Aizawl on Wednesday, (April 9, 2014). Deepak Mehra opened the scoring for the North Indian outfit in their final match of the tournament in the 18th minute of the match. Following the goal, the intent of Bhawanipore multiplied and they struck back in the 36thminute via topscorer Daniel Ayeni, who equalised with a straight shot that got past Hindustan goalie Amit Sharma. The Liberian gave Juliano Fontana’s side the lead just at the stroke of half-time with an amazing solo effort. The goal-poacher got past two defenders and scored from a one-on-one situation. Daniel then played a dummy which led the keeper to the opposite direction, and the striker slotted the ball home easily. In the second half, Fontana’s men continued revving up their momentum in the same way they ended the first half. Midfielder Snehashish Dutta made it 3-1 for Bhawanipore in the 60th minute, and that goal was followed by a cracker of a goal from Abhinash Ruidas.
