COCHIN: Koko Sakibu scored a brace as Eagles FC ended their campaign in the 35th Federation Cup with a 2-0 victory over United SC in a Group A League match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Cochin on Monday (January 20).

Sakibu scored the first in the 12th minute when he beat the off-side trap and opened the scoring. With his defence caught on the wrong foot United SC Goalkeeper rushed out of the box to intercept. But the shrewd Sakibu evaded him and walked into the net with the ball.

The second goal came in the 86th minute. This time too, Sakibu beat the off-side trap and with Jayanta helplessly out of position, he lobbed it over his head into an empty net.

The victory helped Eagles FC to finish their campaign with 4 points while United SC ended with 3 points from as many matches.

Churchill Brothers had booked their semifinal slot from the Group with two victories in their first two matches.
