First-ever AIFF-FFA Grassroots Leaders Course concludes in Imphal

NEW DELHI: The first AIFF-FFA Grassroots Leaders Course ended successfully in Imphal on January 20 (Monday). The three-day Course was part of the AIFF’s partnership with the Football Federation of Australia for the AIFF Grassroots Programme. A total of 31 Grassroots Leaders (Grassroots Coaches) attended the Course.

 

The President of the All Manipur Football Association Mr. Santosh Kumar Singh thanked the AIFF for the initiative. “ AMFA is trying its best to make our young kids into good Footballers and are also trying to give our Coaches the best possible education in Football at all levels. I am thankful to the AIFF for giving us this opportunity to organise such a Course which was very much due in Manipur,” he said.
 


Complementing Singh’s sentiments, AMFA Secretary Mr. Ranjit Roy added: “To build a House it is important that the foundation is very strong. Similarly to produce a versatile Player, it is important to start at the Grassroots level. We are confident that we will be able to produce good Footballers from Manipur to play for India in the future. I would like to thank the AIFF for this opportunity to help our Coaches gain knowledge about training Grassroots kids.”

The three-day Course comprised of theory and practical sessions and witnessed active participation from the participants. The Course ended with a Grassroots Football festival in which 91 kids, all between the age of 6-12, participated. The Festival consisted of small-sided games and technical stations alternately and the kids enjoyed it thoroughly.

 

The next course of the AIFF-FFA Grassroots partnership is planned from the January 20-22 on in Aizawl, Mizoram which is to be followed by another one in Mumbai from the January 27-29.
