Background:

India will host the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2017. It will be the first time the country hosts an event from the world football governing body. This is the third most important event of the FIFA calendar, with 24 countries playing 52 games in 6 venues across India. It has been a key stepping stone in the careers of a large part of world football stars, among them 16 senior World Champions and will be the most important event ever to be hosted in Indian football history.

The tournament has a huge worldwide reach, with an estimated global audience from almost 200 different countries, which is a golden opportunity to show India throughout the world, its cities, culture and the capability of organizing an event of the highest standards.

The FIFA U-17 World Cup will have a lasting influence in Indian Football, upgrading the infrastructure, setting up proper game operations standards and improving the overall quality of the game. Undoubtedly, the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017 is primed to be a game changer for Indian Football.

Job Description:

This position will be responsible to assist the Venue Accreditation Officer in implementation of the Accreditation functional area for Local Organising Committee of the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017 and any ancillary events such as the Official Draw and the Opening Ceremony.

The selected candidate must have an operational understanding of accreditation categories with regard to function and access as well as sound operational experience in order to support all functional areas involved with the event.

He/she is expected to work under the guidance of the Accreditation Venue Officer to assist and implement the accreditation processes in line with FIFA requirements across a FIFA event, including Stadiums, Training Sites, official Hotels, IBCC, Media Centre and any other areas where accredited persons and/or spectators may be present.

He/she must work under the guidance of the Accreditation Venue Officer to implement the production and distribution schedule of the accreditation badges in the venue.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the Accreditation Venue Officer with implementation of the Accreditation processes - data collection, data verification, badge production and distribution as per the Venue Accreditation plan
  • Supporting the Accreditation Venue Officer with implementation of the stadium /training site zoning plan as per the FIFA guidelines and Venue Zoning Plan.
  • Operational support in ensuring the circulation paths for each accredited zone for various accredited categories
  • Coordination with various departments and suppliers to collect all the relevant applicant data in the required format in a timely fashion.
  • Leading the Remote Accreditation Team along with two volunteers to collect team headshots and other relevant information in the required format to be provided to the Accreditation Venue Officer (AVO)
  • Filing and classifying all applicant details in an orderly fashion to assist the AVO in data verification
  • Lead and manage the badge production schedule to meet the timelines and minimize wastage
  • Assisting the AVO in preparing tracking sheets for the SAD distribution and ensuring all the relevant accredited personnel are distributed the SADs for a smooth game.
  • Frequent and adequate physical inspections across all zone access checkpoints to ensure zone implementation - and notifying the AVO in case of any deviation
  • Maintaining a clean and efficient tracking mechanism for all the pending, verified and flagged applications
  • Assisting the AVO to create and implement a badge distribution schedule. Guiding the accreditation volunteers to facilitate an efficient distribution schedule
  • Daily reporting of the inventory stock levels to the AVO
  • Daily reporting of the working expenses (if any) to the AVO and handover of the bills in an organized file format
  • Assisting the AVO to prepare the final tournament report by supplying information and pictures of the stadium, training sites and hotels etc.
  • Support in other functions if requested by the Operations Venue team
  • Develop the work in a manner consistent with the values of the organization.

Personnel in Charge:

Will be agreed by the Head of Operations, Central Operations Manager and Accreditation & ICT Manager once this hiring process ends and there is a definite plan for this area.

  • Keeping a continuous and updated inventory of accreditation materials
  • Working with the Accreditation Venue Officer to implement the site zoning system in all the venues
  • Collecting photographic and documentation assets that assist the Accreditation Venue Officer in creating pre-tournament, match day and post-tournament reports as per the guidelines.
  • Ability to read stadium plans and support with the closure of access loopholes.

Candidate Profile:

The Accreditation Venue Assistant is expected to implement the production and distribution schedule at the venue level under the guidance of the Accreditation Venue Officer. He/she must demonstrate a willingness to apply his/her prior experience with operations or accreditation to carry out his/her responsibilities as per the policies and structure of FIFA’s system.

  • Operational understanding and experience to be able to deliver schedules in a timely and efficient manner
  • Prior experience in accreditations or facility operations with international events such as IPL, HIL, Pro Kabaddi League or Commonwealth Games would be preferred.
  • Understanding of stadium operations and access requirements of various stakeholder categories.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong ability to learn, operate and guide venue staff with usage of accreditation software.
  • Willingness to learn & understanding setup of ICT elements, functionality and networking setup. 
  • Working knowledge of the security regulations to be applied in stadiums and other types of events from an accreditations perspective.
  • Extremely strong analytical capability and meticulous work ethic.
  • Proven capability to work under pressure in a team environment.
  • Meticulous, detail oriented with a strong ability to organize and structure planning to support on ground delivery.
