Background: India will host the FIFA Under 17 Women’s World Cup in 2020. This will be the
second tournament that we will host from the world football governing body. This is the third
most important event of the FIFA calendar for Women’s Competitions, with 16 countries playing
in 36 games across 4 venues in India. FIFA Under 17 Women’s World Cup has been a key
steppingstone in the career of a large part of world football stars and will be among one of the
important events ever to be hosted in Indian football history.
 
The tournament has a huge worldwide reach, with an estimated global audience of about 200
million from 200 different countries, which is a golden opportunity to showcase Indian cities,
culture and the capability of organising an event of the highest standards to the world.
 
The FIFA Under 17 Women’s World Cup 2020 will have a lasting influence on Indian Football,
upgrading the infrastructure, setting up game operations standards and improving the overall
quality of the game. Undoubtedly, FIFA Under 17 Women’s World Cup India 2020 is primed to
be a game changer for Indian Football.
 
Job Description: This position will be responsible for community engagement in the lead-up to
and during the tournament. They will also be heading volunteer management before and during
the tournament. They will have to work with closely with the Tournament Director to implement
strategies and action plans to fulfil the mission and vision of the organisation. 

 

Main Responsibilities:
? Manage the creation of an overall strategic plan for community engagement and
volunteer management, including raising awareness about the FIFA U-17 Women’s
World Cup India 2020 and development of engagement pathways for the tournament;
? Manage the execution of all community engagement strategies;
? Set goals and metrics to ensure effective implementation of strategies;
? Monitor the success of community and volunteer engagement strategies and makes
course corrections in order to meet the established goals;
? Ensure the entire implementation of the volunteer programme centrally and across all
host cities;
? Work with the various functional areas of the LOC to deliver an efficient and effective
volunteer program;
? In charge of the selection of Venue Volunteers Officers, who will implement the
Volunteer Programme in all the venues of the Tournament;
? Prepare end of the tournament community engagement and volunteer programme de-
brief.
Personnel in Charge: Will be agreed by the Tournament Director once this hiring process ends
and there is a definite plan for this area.
 
Key Performance Indicators: Will be communicated in due time by the Tournament Director in
accordance with the goals established between FIFA and the LOC for the FIFA U17 Women’s
World Cup India 2020. The indicators will be calculated on the basis of the Event deliverables
and Event requirements met in a timely manner.
 
Candidate Profile:
? 7-10 years’ experience of working with multiple stakeholders including government
bodies, NGOs, and with public relations
? Proven experience of dealing with volunteering programs and community engagement
? Strong analytical capacity
? Proven leadership capacity and good relationship with subordinates in high stress
moments
? Excellent communication skills
? Experience of working in sports events and knowledge of various functional areas of an
international sports event is desired
